Compassionate COUNSELING
IN English OR German lanGuage

I work with people internationally who have experienced ruptured, hostile, or neglectful caretaking at home. I also support those who experienced abusive relationships later in life: in school, sports teams, university, within their circle of friends, or the workplace. As a Doctor in Depth Psychology, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor, I weave together a blend of styles from my professional training in:
Depth Psychology
Depth Psychology offers insight into emotional conflicts and promotes understanding of inner and interpersonal processes. Depth Psychology is concerned with accessing knowledge via the individual’s or collective unconscious, thereby exploring what is beneath the symptom. Healing is associated with allowing what has been repressed, rejected, denied, or ignored to come forward so that the person can understand, explore its significance, and integrate it, allowing for a transformation in consciousness. Depth psychology draws on many therapeutic approaches, including dreamwork, mythology, psychology, shamanism, literature, and the arts.
Somatic Experiencing®
Somatic Experiencing is a method for resolving symptoms resulting from trauma and chronic stress. Created by Dr. Peter Levine, SE uses a psycho-biological approach that does not require a person to fully re-tell or re-live traumatic events. With an emphasis on the ‘felt sense’ of the body and instinctual responses, SE gently guides clients in a slow, supportive fashion, increasing tolerance for difficult sensations and emotions and often offering corrective experiences. By focusing on the present moment, you learn to distinguish past experiences and perceptions from present circumstances. The process invites greater emotional and physical awareness, increases choice and agency, and emphasizes the healing power of co-regulation, restoring inner balance and vitality.
Holistic Counseling
For those interested in an integrative approach to health and wellness, we look at how all areas of life are connected. Common areas for counseling involve work, health, creativity, vision, purpose, and relationships. Counseling encourages inquiry and the development of awareness to serve as a reflective sounding board. Emphasis is on your present state and future potential with the aim of sustainable transformation. I’ll support you in making positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. When appropriate, I might suggest medical tests provided by your general MD.

FAQs
What does a Counseling session look like?
In most sessions, the client and counselor sit opposite each other. Mostly, you (the client) will do the talking, and I will facilitate the journey of exploring your thoughts, feelings, and intuition, mirroring back your body movements and taking you deeper into the process. By allowing your body and psyche to more fully inhabit the present, you enhance your capacity to effectively self-regulate.
How long is a counseling Session?
Sessions are typically 60 minutes. I create a standing weekly appointment in my schedule for you, which is your time only. Essentially, we both commit to our time together and agree to start on time while also being mindful of the allotted time for our appointment. Should you be late to a session, the session will end at the scheduled time. This allows me to keep my professional commitment to each person.
WHERE DO Sessions TAKE PLACE?
Sessions typically take place via Zoom unless otherwise agreed. After your session booking, you will receive your individual login details.
What is the RECOMMENDED FREQUNCY OF SESSIONS?
A weekly therapeutic commitment is initially most clinically beneficial. The consistency and predictability of meeting once per week allow trust to develop and our relationship to be built on continuity over time. Since the work supports different patterns to take shape in your nervous system, regularity is essential.
What is the CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY?
I require at least 48 hours’ advance notice for rescheduling or cancellation. Likewise, should I need to postpone a session, I will give you the same advance notice. Even with 48 hours' advance notice, options for an alternative time can be limited. Often, with more advance notice, it’s easier for me to find another possibility during the week that’s mutually convenient. In the event that you cancel less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the session fee.
